Holy Soreness Batman!

I have been out of commission that last few days since Friday’s personal training….I’ve been sore before but this was a whole ‘nother level of soreness. I could barely walk down the stairs without wishing someone would drop-kick me so I would fall to the bottom. Due to my sore state, I was unable to go to training on Monday which I hate-hate-hate but I couldn’t even walk. I am lucky I didn’t break one of our toilets by just dropping onto them. I was doing the Senior Shuffle around the house! Today I am feeling better and just wincing from the pain.

Today in a moment of fitness clarity, I went to one of my inspirational fitness sites Black Girls RUN!

Toni Carey and Ashley Hicks created Black Girls RUN! in 2009 in an effort to tackle the growing obesity epidemic in the African-American community and provide encouragement and resources to both new and veteran runners.  The mission of Black Girls RUN! is to encourage African-American women to make fitness and healthy living a priority. According to the Centers for Disease Control, 80% of African-American women are overweight. BGR! wants to create a movement to lower that percentage and subsequently, lower the number of women with chronic diseases associated with an unhealthy diet and sedentary lifestyle.

I LOVE Black Girls RUN! and I wish there was a local running group. Even though I fancy myself the anti-runner, I really want to make running a part of my fitness regimen.

Oh and I also downloaded the Preserve the Sexy mixtapesixty minutes of beats. I’m listening to it now and it’s fi-yah!
