My family LOVES to dance! For as long as I can remember some sort of dance-off happened during the holidays. Some of my best childhood holiday memories with my grandmother is dancing with family and friends (Soul Train line, anyone?) way past my bedtime! The Just Dance 4 takes those post-Thanksgiving dinner dance-offs to the next level! Not only does it get the blood flowing to battle the sleepiness from the tryptophan in the turkey, it makes life-lasting memories. Another bonus is burning off those calories from that extra piece of sweet potato pie! Mmmmm sweet potato pie. ::drool::
I was really psyched to try out Just Dance 4 as we don’t any of the Just Dance series. Just Dance 4 is a video music game developed by Ubisoft as the fourth installment in the Just Dance series. The format stays the same: players are judged by their ability to mimic on-screen dancers performing a routine to a chosen song (my FAVORITE song was Rock Lobster!). In Just Dance 4 there is a dance battle mode, unlockable bonus songs, and expansions to the Just Sweat mode.
We hooked it up to the XBox 360 for Kinect and were excited to try out the dance missions. Here are some comments from the “experts”, my ten year old son Aidan and ten year old nephew Dan (who is a Just Dance pro), that tried out the game pre-Thanksgiving.
“First of all, the songs are harder to dance to than Just Dance 3,” says my nephew Dan, “you have to really pay attention to the moves!”
“You have to pay attention” my son Aidan says,”There’s a whole bunch of different modes. There is one that tells you how many calories you are burning.”
“It is really fun because you can dance and listen to some good songs and mostly new songs!” exclaims Dan.
Dan gave it 4 out of 5 stars.
Aidan gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Is Dance 4 on your holiday shopping list? It should be! It is the world’s #1 selling dance game brand (and now I see why!) and it was just voted “Favorite Video Game” at the Kids Choice Awards. You can purchase the game on Amazon.com and ToysRUs.com. Happy Dancegiving!
