My heart is heavy with the events that have happened in Boston and Texas. I tried not to stay locked into the news but I did out of concern, worry, disbelief, sadness, and to find reason to WHY. I am still trying to figure out the latter and thankful for the police, FBI, and so many other “helpers” (to quote Mr. Robinson).
On Friday I met with my new personal trainer Tara for the first time. Before we started, we talked about my previous back injury, my weight loss history, and my goals. I told her I wanted to train with her twice a week for the next eight weeks in addition to spinning, Zumba, working out at home, and being active with my family. My goal is to lose fifteen pounds in eight weeks JUST in time for my next bornday. Tara has a warm, inviting smile, a great personality, and we had great synergy together throughout the session. She even laughed at my jokes and self-deprecation. Not to mention she is also a figure competitor and a mom and her body is MAJ-AH. Afterwards, I did a moderate intensity session on the elliptical and by the time I had left the gym I was already a third of the way to my Nike Fuelband goal.
My eating this week has been on point. I cut down on my imbibing and have been chugging lemon water like it’s no one’s business. I really enjoyed my breakfasts of different egg white omelettes on low carb tortillas with the hottest salsa I can tolerate. My Mister grilled some bison burgers one night that were out of sight…a bison burger on a sandwich thin with grilled onions, portabella, lettuce, tomato, and Sriracha sauce was only 6 points!!! Another night I made shrimp madras curry with onions that was pretty remarkable as well.
5 things I enjoyed this week:
1. Watching Wonder Women! The Untold Story of American Superheroines. AMAZING. You can watch it online for a limited time and I totally recommend doing so. Coincidentally, I went to sleep in my Wonder Woman shirt!
2. Magically fitting into a pair of pants that didn’t fit the night before when I tried it on and then fit the morning of. I know Banana Republic uses vanity sizing but fitting into an 8L is an achievement and I’ll take it!
4. Getting my new Empower Boxing set in the mail! Can’t wait to try it. Yes, I get geeked over jump ropes, weighed gloves…you don’t? And yes, I bought these with my own ducats and as always will provide an unbiased review!
5. Spending time with my boys and Mister. It was a lighter travel week so we were together most nights. One night we made pizzas and cookies and today the Mister and I snuck away for lunch at a French bistro. After such a tumultuous week, it was much-needed.
What are your Sunday plans? I hope all is well with you and yours. We remain united and strong.
