2013 has most certainly been the year of cleaning up both my own health and that of my clients by incorporating healthy and happy routines inclusive of good-for-me-foods, a little self-pattin’ on the back, journaling, and harvesting the strongest and most fulfilling of relationships.
Since identifying “things” that make me smile, I want to stick with this theme, wrap it on up, and put “happy” in a box to gift to my loved ones. So what are things that make us women healthy and happy? Here are some of my feel-good gift giving ideas for this holiday season.
1.) A big ol’ cup of joe or some herbal tea
Umhumm, I love me a nice warm mug of any delectable treat. For many of us, it’s a daily routine to get our morning fix of warm coffee or tea, so treat a friend to a “fancy” blend for a warm-me-up happy gift. My favorite designer tea is Mighty Leaf and the joe-of-choice is this delish coffee from a New York City-based company called Mud.
2.) Keeping it Green with a Mason Jar
Whether you’re a city slicker or you live in a more rural area, there’s nothing that screams “yeah, I love nature” more then sporting a new collection of Mason Jars! It’s a simple fix for storage containers for jams, grains, and legumes, can be used as a decorative pieces throughout your home (check these adorable DIY tricks), and can serve as a simple drinking glass. Plus, green smoothies just seem to be tastier when enjoyed in a mason jar!
3.) A present-minded, ujjayi-breathing yoga class
Through this holiday craziness, give the gift of zen to refocus and take on the new year with a clear, stress-free mind. I promise, you loved ones will be oh-so-thankful for this gift. Many local studios have a new member special so I encourage you to do a bit of research in your area to find a studio that’s most convenient. Still a bit pricey? Feel free to introduce your loved ones to this free site for yogis of all ages.
4.) Keeping the essentials organized with fully-functional fashion
Since every lady loves a new fashionable piece, this Dagne Dover Clutch Wallet is just to brilliant to not share. This sleek piece has compartments galore and helps keep all our “necessary” items in their proper locations. No loose change here, or receipts there. Plus, the detachable card and cash case can help make the day-to-night bag change a simple switch, without the risk of forgetting your ID. I’m a happy camper when my bag and wallet are in check so I can better take on the day with productivity and focus.
5.) Candles, inscence and lotion, oh my!
A girl just can’t get enough of these feel-good, smell-good, and make-the-house feel & smell good treats! There’s nothing that screams “comfort” more than lighting a candle, enjoying the natural smells of inscence or giving the body some love with a solid (and safe) lotion. These gifts are fun to give AND receive and are on the more affordable side as to not overly strain the bank. I like to make little”happiness samplers” and gift a cute little bag inclusive of some or all of these items!
