Earlier in the month (about three Manifest Mondays) ago, I made a concerted effort to make some changes. August threw me throw so many loops with a (slightly less) hectic work schedule, trips to D.C. and Fort Lauderdale, and just go-go-go.
I still don’t know if I’m coming or going. Today I felt like I lost an entire day between work, doing laundry, and trying to do some light email housekeeping and plan-ahead for my blog posts.
I need to slow down.
Take a breath.
Yup, not rushing but definitely hurrying very quickly.I need to start making good on promises.
Let’s revisit that list from August 2:
1. Crack open my photography books, Pinch of Yum tutorials and really get my learn on with my new Lumix G7 and Canon T6i
I haven’t cracked open anything. Not even a peek. I did however take lots of amazing shots with both cameras and experimented. Once in a garden near the Smithsonian near D.C. At the Giants training camp. And this past weekend at my in-laws lake house. So I give myself a 3/10.
2. Read Beautiful Struggle and Between the World and Me
These will be my beach reads this week. 0/10.
3. Track my meals via Weight Watchers and wear my FitBit and take before/after shots to document what conscious eating and less stress does to my body and skin
I did track my meals and then my Weight Watchers one month subscription ran out. My eating has been cray because we’ve been traveling. I did to drink more water and stop with the Champagne and Warm Carbohydrates Diet. I am like Drake meets Matt Bellassai at this point:
I discovered Anowa Adjah’s Powerhouse Physique Workouts and Meal Plans. This is my eyes on the prize for September.
One last ✈️ jaunt and then it’s on like Donkey Kong with @anowaadjah #powerhousephysiques 30 Day…but I’m going harder with it. My workouts and runs have always been there now it’s time to put my money where my mouth…changing my eating! #health #weightloss #curvy #plussize #challenge #fitfluential #losethegutkeepthebutt
So 3/10 on this because the love child of Drake and Matt Bellassai deserves an extra point or two. Ok, back to the other items that I
neglected accomplished…I kinda, sorta tried to do.
4. Commit to my half marathon training schedule
I got in maybe 2 runs per week when I was supposed to be doing 4-5. So there’s that. I need to get my butt into gear or I won’t finish. 4/10
5. Organize the 3-car garage and re-Marie Kondo our pantry and laundry room
At this point I need Marie Kondo to appear out of a lamp a la Genie Style and help me organize ALL the things. I have however kept the house clean without the much-needed cleaning services and have made sure all laundry baskets stayed empty (basically by doing laundry every day).
6. Start my Zumba Plate studies
1/10. I logged in. That has to count for something.
7. Fully enjoy and immerse myself in our family trip to Bahamas and me and my Mister’s quick jaunt to the MIA
5/10 (only because we haven’t left for Atlantis yet) Fort Lauderdale was what we needed as a couple. And Bahamas is what our family needs. Let me ready myself for all the fun.
So, overall I borderline failed at my goals this month but I am optimistic for next month. I DID a lot this month. I learned to disconnect. I saw my youngest sister and spent some much quality time with her. The month flew by. But September is mine!
