Just another Manic Monday! I write this after getting my two bambinos (or rather not-so-bambinos) off to school before starting my own work day. My days start early and I make a conscious effort to concentrate on family and self. The past week has been a whirlwind between back to school, the holiday weekend, my mother’s birthday and starting Anowa Adjah’s 30 Day Challenge. (I’m on Day 7) Factor in work, home improvement projects and overall life and I’m just tuckered typing about it but I power through it because I’m a:
I’m a “hustler”, #girlboss, and I refuse to compromise, settle, or not live my life to the fullest.
This week I am concentrating on “willing it to fruition”. I have so many goals on my plate but I need to concentrate on the ones I want to will into fruition. It is already into the second week of September and I’m trying to make good on the promises of August. However, is there enough time in the day? Life throws you so many curveballs and I already feel so over-scheduled already. My iPhone serves as an alarm clock that tolls throughout the day reminding me what I should be doing, when I should eat, when to workout, when my next conference call is, when to pick up the boys to school, when practices are…it never stops.
So, I’m shortening the list. Not only am I enhancing the GET FIT DIVA experience to include a storefront and an online and IRL community, I’m also re-launching my professional site (F/K/A PR Diva Blog) to The Fervency for multi-passionate women. Plus I’m a working mom. There just isn’t enough time.
Here’s my revised list adapted from August’s:
1. Crack open my photography books, Pinch of Yum tutorials and really get my learn on with my new Lumix G7 and Canon T6i
I am going to schedule this into my already over-scheduled life. I did shoot this weekend and I think the shots came out pretty nice. Let me know what you think. But I do need to learn my basics and fully maximize both my camera’s offerings.
2. Read Beautiful Struggle and Between the World and Me
I read two beach reads and countless magazines in the Bahamas because I needed to decompress and these books are heavy. I am going to put these on my bedside to read at night.
3. Track my meals via Weight Watchers and wear my FitBit and take before/after shots to document what conscious eating and less stress does to my body and skin
I have been tracking my meals via the Weight Watchers app while on the 30 Day Challenge. I am also taking care of my skin using Exposed Skincare.
4. Commit to my half marathon training schedule
My half-marathon training has been subpar. This is a walk/run half marathon and for that I am grateful. At this point hoping to come in under 3 hours and just finish.
5. Organize the 3-car garage and re-Marie Kondo our pantry and laundry room
At this point I need Marie Kondo to appear out of a lamp a la Genie Style and help me organize ALL the things. I have however kept the house clean without the much-needed cleaning services and have made sure all laundry baskets stayed empty (basically by doing laundry every day).
6. Start my Zumba Plate studies
I logged in. That has to count for something. Again I need to schedule in 2-3 hours a week to learn, study, and complete the course.
7. Start planning our next family vacation
Our summer vacation was chock-full of cool trips to Nemacolin Woodlands Resort & Spa, Washington, D.C. (and surrounding areas), and Atlantis (Bahamas). Our winter vacay will be to Florida and I’m hoping in the Spring/Summer to take the boys to Europe.
My list is ambitious but I am sure I can try to do all of these thing harmoniously while trying to launch new projects and initiatives. I’m up for the Challenge! All of these things coming to fruition will require hard work…I will make it all happen.
How is your September so far? What are you willing into fruition?
