I am participating in an Ambassador program on behalf of Influence Central and hosted by the makers of Bayer® Aspirin. I have received compensation to thank me for my participation. All opinions expressed are my own.
It’s already March and the year seems to rushing by. Despite the hectic schedules of my family, I look forward to more cherished experiences with loved ones from the big ones –hello summer vacation and summer birthday celebrations—to small ones like making time to watch their lacrosse practices despite a crazy work schedule or just going to the local ice cream shop after dinner.
Family and friends truly enrich our lives. And while we never like to think about an unexpected emergency related to heart disease, preparing for the possibility puts each of us in the position to act as a hero for someone we love, to ensure memory-making for years to come.
As a teenager, I underwent open heart surgery and my family has a history of heart disease (strokes and heart attacks) so I have been hyperaware of the importance of heart health and knowing what to do. There’s a heart attack every 42 seconds in the U.S. Chewing aspirin during a suspected heart attack could help save someone’s life but the problem is there isn’t always aspirin around. Taking Bayer aspirin during a suspected heart attack can help save a life.
Bayer Aspirin has developed a campaign called The HeroSmiths to address the issue of heart attacks in the U.S., and to help people realize the life-saving benefits of aspirin. Bayer Aspirin wants to turn every person with the most common last name into potential heroes.
Let’s make saving lives something common. Join me in helping to save lives by carrying Bayer Aspirin. And you don’t need a workout bag like mine, which my kids affectionately nicknamed Hermione’s purse because it seems to be a bottomless pit like the Harry Potter character’s purse. Doing something so simple like carrying aspirin can make a huge difference in the world by helping save lives!
This is something I believe in. It has affected my family and friends so I’ve taken the pledge, shared the video, and taken the quiz—and found out that by carrying aspirin, I could help save the 792 people I see each day from a suspected heart attack.
I hope you will join me in helping to save lives!
In the event of a suspected heart attack, immediately call 9-1-1 and chew or crush and swallow aspirin as directed by a doctor.
