May is the National Physical Fitness and Sports Month, so it’s a great time to get out and get moving! Most individual’s lives are filled to the brink between work, family and extra-curricular activities and finding the right balance can take some trial and error. It can be especially challenging carving out the right niche when it comes to achieving optimum balance with your fitness goals. Fortunately, you can find the right amount of inspiration by envisioning your goals, implementing the right plan and strategically placing pictures on a board that will motivate and keep you on target.
How do you implement the right plan for healthy balance? You can start by scouring the Internet, magazines and books for images that showcase your goals and inspire. Photos of healthy meals, workouts you may want to try and inspirational people can all be added.
Choose one specific photo for your collage and place it at the forefront. This goal of either fitting into that perfect dress or achieving an overall healthy lifestyle will help remind you of what your end results are for yourself. Maintaining a healthy life is about an equal balance of eating right, exercising, staying on task and mental awareness. Additional photos can be added to inspire, and you can organize them in a way that is most beneficial. A nutritious diet contributes to your healthy balance, so you can create a collage based on good for you foods. Select pictures of your favorite options, tantalizing recipes and items you have never tried but would like to.
What motivates you to get moving? Find images that motivate you to exercise such as an illustration of a jogging path along the beach or a magazine photo of people sweating and working out. Implement a daily exercise plan and pick your favorite upbeat music to go along with it.
Why should motivation be included? Many individuals can get lost along the way and need a boost to get back on track. Pictures such as a marathoner crossing the finishing line can remind you of the outcome you wish to achieve and help keep you motivated. Mental health and well-being is imperative in remaining balanced, but it can also become forgotten. Visual reminders that bring peace, tranquility and relaxation to your life should be added. This could include pictures of yoga poses, gardening or relaxing in a bubble bath.
Create a board that’s appealing to you: Since this is your personal board, you need to select items that cater to your needs and will light a fire deep inside you. Sneakers- What better way to boost motivation than to treat yourself to some fabulous workout gear or a fresh pair of new kicks? Bright colored apparel, like this pair of Asics from Zappos, is a popular trend this spring. Bright colors so appropriate for the warm weather and motivation!
Lilacs- Last spring I started learning more about gardening. I enjoy the being in the garden and watching blooms take life as the warmer weather approached. Lilacs are one of my favorite flowers, plus the smell wonderful! Whenever I smell this flower, it boosts my mood! And a mood booster is what I need to improve the healthy balance in my life.
Golf Course- In keeping with the theme of the outdoors, I would like to enjoy more of it by finding another activity to keep me outside. I’ve started taking some golf lessons at New York golf club, Atunyote. Golf is great because not only is it less strenuous activity, but you also have the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.
Paintbrush- Another relaxing activity I’d like to try is painting. I think painting is a great stress reliever, even if you’re not an artist, it can be a relaxing hobby.
Yoga- To me, there’s no better feeling than enjoying the outdoors. I’m really inspired by yoga for a number of reasons. Yoga focuses the mind and body, teaching ourselves to find a spiritual balance. I also love that yoga can be done anywhere, even the beach!
The key to persisting with any healthy lifestyle is balance. Whether you want to eat more organic food, start exercising daily or just master certain fitness goals, an inspiration board can help you figure out those goals and fine tune what makes you tick so that you stay focused on getting your health together.
